Announcing: The Safal Niveshak Education Scholarship

Charlie Munger, in a speech at USC Law School commencement in May 2007, said –

I constantly see people rise in life who are not the smartest, sometimes not even the most diligent, but they are learning machines. They go to bed every night a little wiser than they were when they got up and boy does that help, particularly when you have a long run ahead of you.

I have personally known a few such people who, by the sheer dint of their hard work and diligence, and despite various challenges they faced at each step of their way, have achieved great heights.

Sadly, I have also known a few who got stuck on the way.

One big reason that has kept most of these latter people from realizing their dreams has been the lack of sufficient money to provide for their education.

In fact, in the recently concluded admissions to my Mastermind Course, I encountered a few tribesmen who shared with me their financial concerns despite their whole-hearted willingness to learn the art of value investing.

While I added them to Mastermind at minimal or zero cost, I have been saddened to see how money can kill dreams of so many deserving people who have the zeal to learn things but are unable to take their first steps for financial reasons.

In order to do my bit on this front, I, alongwith my wife who has been a rock-solid support in everything I have done over the past few years, feel humbled to announce The Safal Niveshak Education Scholarship.

Through this scholarship, we aim to use a part of our net income from Mastermind and other similar initiatives to reduce the financial barriers of as many deserving students as we can.

How It Will Work?
If you need financial aid to fund a part of your education – tuition fee and/or books – or you know someone (or a group) who needs it, just email me at vishal@safalniveshak.com and I will suggest you the next steps.

Please don’t hesitate to write to me!

The scholarship is open to all fields and levels of education – except if there is a student debt that has to be repaid.

Aside a basic due diligence, please know that I will put my trust in you, so please request for the scholarship only if you really need it, or know someone deserving who really needs it.

Not Only Education…
While I have been specific in mentioning education as the underlying segment for granting the scholarship/aid, we are open to other avenues for lending financial support – like food, water, and healthcare – to whatever extent is possible for us.

In fact, income from the first batch of Mastermind helped us fund initiatives like Against Malaria Foundation (supplies mosquito nets in Africa), Akshaya Patra (mid-day meals for Indian school kids), and Charity:Water (brings, safe drinking water facilities to rural, developing world).

So, Safal Niveshak will be happy to support any initiative you know of, and which requires monetary assistance.

Of course, our means would be limited, but then who says you need to be a millionaire to create a difference in the life of others.

We believe it’s time to put to rest the idea that what’s mine is mine.

And like Warren Buffett teaches us through working hard all his life to give away most of all he has, there is more to happiness than being in a good mood.

    Vishal,
A wonderful initiative ! Yes, even I agree that to create a difference in others life you need not be a millionaire, but the foremost thing which is required is the willingness to do so.

I wish you luck and may God bless you and your family!

    Regards,
    Sohini

Great initiative. It is in line with “the more you give the more you get”. Be rest assured it will come back in multiple proportions.
I have met a few (may be I can count in single digits) who work hard and aspire for more (status, money, power) so that they can share/ give back more.
What a wonderful way to motivate oneself that work hard and earn more so that you can help others more.

I would like to thank you again in more ways than one for starting this scholarship. You are indeed doing very noble work by helping those in need and giving them an opportunity to be on the same level playing field as others. May God bless your initiative abundantly and also help your business and tribe grow manifold.
